Responsibilities:
- Planting and Harvesting: You will be responsible for planting, cultivating, and harvesting various types of fruits, ensuring proper techniques are followed for optimal growth and yield. This includes preparing the soil, planting seeds or saplings, and maintaining proper irrigation systems.
- Pruning and Maintenance: You will assist in pruning and trimming fruit trees and plants to enhance their health, productivity, and appearance. Regular maintenance tasks, such as weeding, fertilizing, and pest control, will also be part of your responsibilities.
- Irrigation Management: Monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure the proper watering of crops, as well as adjusting irrigation schedules based on weather conditions and crop requirements.
- Sorting and Packaging: After harvesting, you will help sort and package the fruits based on size, quality, and market requirements. This includes inspecting the produce for any defects or damage, ensuring only the finest quality fruits reach our customers.
- Equipment Operation: Operating and maintaining farm equipment and machinery, such as tractors, tillers, pruning shears, and harvesting tools. You will be responsible for ensuring the equipment is in good working condition and reporting any malfunctions or repairs needed.
- Safety and Compliance: Following all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Adhering to all relevant agricultural regulations, including pesticide and chemical handling procedures.
- Teamwork: Collaborating with other farm workers and supervisors to accomplish daily tasks efficiently. Cooperating and communicating effectively with team members to ensure smooth farm operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in farming or agriculture is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train motivated individuals who are passionate about working on a fruit farm.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform labor-intensive tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of basic farming techniques, such as planting, pruning, and irrigation, is a plus.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, as farming is an outdoor profession.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility in work schedules, as some weekend and holiday work may be required during peak seasons.
- A valid driver’s license may be required, depending on the specific responsibilities assigned.
