Job Description: As a Welder Helper, you will assist welders in the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of metal structures and equipment. Responsibilities:
- Assist welders in setting up and preparing welding equipment, tools, and materials.
- Transport and organize metal components and supplies to the worksite.
- Clean and prepare surfaces for welding, including grinding and removing debris.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of metal structures and equipment.
- Position and secure workpieces using clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
- Operate machinery and tools under the supervision of experienced welders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage of equipment and materials.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Perform essential maintenance and repair tasks on welding equipment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Welder Helper or in a similar role is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding diagrams.
- Physical stamina and skill to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Valid work permit or Canadian citizenship.
- Welding certifications or training programs are a plus.
