Job Description: As a Welder Helper, you will assist welders in the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of metal structures and equipment. You will work closely with experienced welders to ensure the successful completion of welding projects safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the welding field.

Table of Contents


  • Assist welders in setting up and preparing welding equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Transport and organize metal components and supplies to the worksite.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for welding, including grinding and removing debris.
  • Assist in the assembly and disassembly of metal structures and equipment.
  • Position and secure workpieces using clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Operate machinery and tools under the supervision of experienced welders.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage of equipment and materials.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Perform essential maintenance and repair tasks on welding equipment.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Welder Helper or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding diagrams.
  • Physical stamina and skill to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Valid work permit or Canadian citizenship.
  • Welding certifications or training programs are a plus.
