- Perform sanitation activities: Execute daily sanitation tasks, including but not limited to cleaning equipment, utensils, production lines, floors, walls, and other surfaces according to established protocols and schedules.
- Follow sanitation procedures: Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for food processing sanitation, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness standards: Ensure all production areas are maintained clean and orderly, meeting high sanitation and hygiene standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.
- Operate sanitation equipment: Properly handle and operate cleaning equipment, such as power washers, foamers, scrubbers, and sanitizing agents, ensuring they are used effectively and safely.
- Monitor chemical concentrations: Accurately measure and mix cleaning chemicals, following established guidelines and safety protocols to maintain appropriate chemical concentrations for adequate sanitation.
- Dispose of waste: Handle waste materials adequately, segregating and disposing them according to waste management guidelines and regulations.
- Document cleaning activities: Maintain accurate and detailed records of sanitation activities, including cleaning logs, checklists, and reports, ensuring proper documentation for audits and inspections.
- Communicate effectively: Collaborate with team members and supervisors to promptly communicate any sanitation issues, equipment malfunctions, or potential safety hazards.
- Adhere to safety protocols: Comply with all occupational health and safety guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and participate in safety training programs.
- Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend innovative solutions to enhance sanitation practices and efficiency within the food processing facility.
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in food processing sanitation or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of food safety regulations, sanitation procedures, and best practices.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals used in the food industry.
- Ability to follow instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols accurately.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to maintain sanitation logs and records.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may require standing, bending, and lifting.
