Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with planting, irrigating, and fertilizing crops, following established guidelines and procedures.
- Perform manual labor tasks, including weeding, pruning, thinning, and transplanting crops as needed.
- Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery, ensuring proper usage and safety protocols.
- Harvest crops at the optimal time, utilizing appropriate techniques to maximize yield and quality.
- Sort, clean, and package harvested crops for storage or distribution, adhering to quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including storage facilities, equipment sheds, and farm premises.
- Participate in routine maintenance and repair tasks, such as fence installation, irrigation system maintenance, and equipment cleaning.
- Monitor and report any signs of plant diseases, pests, or other issues to the farm supervisor for appropriate action.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and work collaboratively with other farm workers to achieve production targets and maintain farm efficiency.
- Assist with other farm-related duties as required, including livestock care, fence repair, or general construction tasks.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in agricultural work is preferred but not required. We are willing to train motivated individuals with a strong work ethic and a passion for farming.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with farm equipment and machinery is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of plant cultivation techniques, crop maintenance, and harvesting practices.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the farm.
