Responsibilities:
- Harvesting: Perform manual harvesting activities, including picking, sorting, and collecting crops according to specific instructions provided by the supervisor. This may involve fruits, vegetables, or other agricultural products, depending on the season and location.
- Quality Control: Inspect crops during the harvesting process, ensuring only high-quality produce is selected. Remove damaged or diseased items to maintain product integrity and meet industry standards.
- Packing and Sorting: Prepare harvested crops for transportation and market distribution. Sort and pack them carefully into designated containers or packaging materials, following established guidelines to maintain freshness and prevent damage.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain harvesting equipment and tools, such as pruning shears, handpicks, or ladders. Ensure equipment is in good working condition and report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and prevent accidents. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe handling procedures when using tools and machinery.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with a diverse team of harvesters and farm staff to accomplish daily tasks efficiently. Communicate effectively, follow instructions, and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Farm Maintenance: Assist in general farm maintenance tasks, such as cleaning work areas, repairing structures, or organizing equipment storage. Support the overall upkeep of the farm to ensure a safe and productive working environment.
