Responsibilities:
- Clean, wash, and sanitize fruits and vegetables using approved cleaning agents and procedures.
- Remove dirt, debris, and other contaminants from produce through manual cleaning methods.
- Inspect fruits and vegetables for any signs of spoilage, damage, or pests, and take appropriate action.
- Sort and separate produce according to size, variety, or other criteria, as instructed.
- Follow proper handling and storage procedures to maintain the freshness and quality of fruits and vegetables.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and machinery, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines, including personal hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Report any quality or safety issues to the supervisor or manager promptly.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Participate in training programs related to food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in food handling or cleaning roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitation procedures for fruits and vegetables.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify and address quality or safety concerns.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to follow instructions and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to work in different shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays.
