Food-processing Equipment Cleaner

Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Food-processing Equipment Cleaner to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to clean and sanitize food-processing equipment, ensuring that it meets the required standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The Food-processing Equipment Cleaner will work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate closely with production and quality assurance teams to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Table of Contents

Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of food-processing equipment, including conveyor belts, mixers, slicers, packaging machines, and other machinery.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment components as necessary for effective cleaning.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure that all equipment is cleaned and sanitized according to industry standards and company guidelines.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning agents, tools, and equipment to remove debris, stains, and other contaminants from equipment surfaces.
  • Ensure the proper disposal of waste and cleaning materials in designated areas.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify and report any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to coordinate cleaning activities and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and comply with all food safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, including cleaning logs and checklists.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a food-processing or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with cleaning agents, sanitizers, and their proper usage.
  • Ability to follow cleaning procedures and protocols with attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy equipment parts and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and report any issues or concerns.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends as required.
