Key Responsibilities:

  1. Crop Cultivation: Assist in planting, cultivating, and maintaining a variety of vegetable crops, following established agricultural practices. This includes tasks such as seeding, transplanting, watering, weeding, and applying fertilizers or pesticides as required.
  2. Harvesting: Participate in the harvest of vegetables, ensuring proper handling and quality control. This may involve manual harvesting, using hand tools or machinery, and following guidelines for crop maturity and handling techniques.
  3. Farm Maintenance: Contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of the farm infrastructure, including irrigation systems, fences, and machinery. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning equipment and tools, to ensure their proper functioning and longevity.
  4. Product Sorting and Packaging: Assist in sorting, grading, and packaging harvested vegetables according to size, quality, and packaging standards. Ensure that produce is properly labeled and stored in appropriate containers for transport.
  5. Health and Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly to the farm supervisor.
  6. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including crop yields, pesticide applications, and other relevant data. Assist with inventory management and supply ordering as needed.
  7. Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, taking direction from supervisors and cooperating with fellow farm workers. Collaborate to complete tasks efficiently and meet production targets.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in vegetable farming or a related field is preferred but not required. We welcome individuals with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions are essential.
  • Basic knowledge of agricultural practices and machinery operation is beneficial.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules, including extended hours during peak farming seasons.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the farm location.

Working Conditions:

  • This position primarily involves outdoor work in various weather conditions, including exposure to sun, rain, heat, and cold temperatures.
  • The job may require prolonged periods of standing, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy objects.
  • Protective clothing and equipment will be provided, including gloves, boots, and safety goggles.
