Job Summary: As a Farm Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily farming activities on our agricultural properties. You will work closely with farm workers and other supervisors to ensure efficient farm operations, maintain high standards of productivity and quality, and promote a safe working environment. The Farm Supervisor reports directly to the Farm Manager and plays a key role in the overall success of our farming operations.

Table of Contents

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate farm workers’ activities, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Implement and enforce farm policies, procedures, and safety regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee planting, cultivating, and harvesting activities to maximize crop yields and meet production targets.
  • Monitor irrigation systems, pest control measures, and fertilization processes to maintain optimal plant health and minimize crop losses.
  • Inspect farm equipment and machinery regularly to ensure proper functionality and coordinate repairs or maintenance when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, such as planting dates, crop yields, equipment usage, and pesticide applications.
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust farming practices accordingly to mitigate risks and optimize crop production.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of agricultural inputs, such as seeds, fertilizers, and chemicals.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new farming techniques, and regulatory changes that may impact farm operations.
  • Train and supervise farm workers in the safe operation of machinery and equipment, as well as proper handling of farm produce.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the agricultural industry is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of farming practices, crop cultivation, and pest management.
  • Familiarity with equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team.
